A clutter-free and organized home is good for your health.

From your sleep to even the air in your house, it has an effect, and that's just two things. It also helps you have:

  1. less risk of respiratory issues like allergies and asthma

  2. lower stress and anxiety levels

  3. improved mental health and well-being

  4. better productivity and focus

  5. much lower risk of falls and accidents because of a more spacious and safer living space

  6. excellent overall hygiene and cleanliness

  7. less risk of pests and vermin

  8. more social interactions since your place would be more inviting and comfortable

The problem, reader, is that so many of us already have too much stuff. Then we get too many unnecessary things to help "organize" this stuff.

It ends up getting worse than when we started without us realizing why.

To help you avoid this, we have compiled essential, good products that will do the job for most kitchens.

These products below bring functionality and style to your kitchen, helping you work towards a clutter-free home.

But it's not just about the products—we've also got some great organization ideas to make your life much easier.

Kitchen Organization Products

Square Glass Storage Jars with Airtight Lids

prevents moisture loss/ preserves freshness/ extends shelf life of food

These airtight lid jars store grains we frequently use, such as lentils, couscous, and garbanzo beans.

They help

  • prevent moisture loss

  • preserve the freshness

  • extend the shelf life and

  • prevent contamination.

The package comes with beautifully shaped black stickers and a white marker to label.

There are plenty of miniature versions of this that you should get for things like nuts and baking ingredients.

Revolving Spice Rack

organizes spices/makes them easy to reach

This spice rack comes with pre-printed labels for almost every spice, making it easy to quickly reach for spices while the food is on the stove.

It also makes it much easier to see how much of each spice you have left so you know when to stock up.

Stainless Steel Large Dish Strainer with Drainboard Set for Sink

1 rack = all your dishes

The goal of organizing is to have as few tools as possible to help you efficiently structure what you already have, and this is precisely what this dishrack does.

It has enough space for your washed dishes to be placed so you can have proper airflow and a drainage system to clear out the drained water.

Pantry Organization Products

Countertop, Detachable Metal Basket

reach for ingredients easily

It’s always better to have the things you regularly need in the kitchen close at hand to make cooking easier.

The countertop double basket you see here helps with that, and it’s a great place to store fruits and vegetables that should not be refrigerated, like tomatoes (because they lose their flavor when chilled).

Check out this post to learn which fruits/vegetables should not be in your fridge.

Oil Dispenser

preserves your oil

We used to think this was unnecessary because why not just use the bottle in which the oil came?

Some oils, like olive oil, must be protected from the sun to continue having the same taste, aroma, and health benefits.

This is much better than always remembering to keep the bottle it came in out of the sun.

The nozzle on this dispenser also makes it easy not to overdo it when pouring.

Turntable Organizer for Cabinet Pantry

space for those extra things lying around

A lazy Susan can help with any extra random things you have lying around.

This one is great because it also rotates, making seeing and reaching everything even more effortless.

Stackable Can Rack

see how much you have left, fewer things expire

For those cans, a rack like this is good for easier reach and better organization because you can see how much of each you have left.

It also reduces your chance of forgetting the ones in the back until they expire since many of us know that when it comes to kitchen cabinets, it’s usually “out of sight, out of mind.”

Mop Broom Holder

hassle-free reach to clean

The structure of this cleaning tool holder is excellent.

You easily slide in your tools and remove them without struggle, and it’s a good length for holding multiple things.

However, we don’t recommend hanging oven mittens next to floor cleaning products for sanitary reasons.

9 in 1 Bamboo Foil and Plastic Wrap Organizer

all in one wrapping materials

You don’t have to keep boxes of Zip locs, aluminum foil, parchment paper, or plastic wrap in random places.

They take up space, and depending on how beat up the box gets after a while, it becomes more annoying trying to take the content out of it, and this organizer helps you avoid all this.

Stainless Steel Knive and Kitchen Utensil Holder

As you may have noticed, reader, it’s all about having as few things as possible to organize what you already have.

This kitchen utensil holder is great because it combines a knife holder and a cooking utensil holder without the bucket being too high, like other versions, where the shorter utensils get hidden inside; this way, you don’t have to dive into it to find what you need.

Eating Utensil Organizer

one spot for all your eating utensils

Using the same concept, this eating utensil holder provides more than enough space for your eating utensils and is easy to clean.

Fridge and Freezer Organization Products

Over 1 billion tons of food is wasted every year around the world, and some of it could be blamed on our inability to see what’s in our fridges because of everything we have.

These products will help you with this.

Egg Holder

These egg crates allow you to see how many eggs you have left, and they’re easier on the eye in the fridge, but we wouldn’t recommend them if you don’t have a problem achieving all of this with the crates the eggs already come in.

Butter Dish With Lid and Knife

less mess than butter straight from the box

A butter tray helps keep your butter less messy than just using the wrapper.

The problem with butter trays is that many are made of glass, and the section for butter built into the fridge is sometimes too high up unless you’re as tall as the fridge.

Accidents happen, and these glass trays become inconvenient, adding to the fact that you must always be careful whenever you take them out.

This plastic one is great because you can avoid these problems.

The lid is connected to the tray, so it only has to be moved to the side, which makes it more like a box (easier to transport and suitable for kids).

We don’t recommend using the knife that comes with it on top of the box unless you have time to wash the tray every two days (hahaha).

A good idea is to store the knife with your eating utensils so you can use it for the butter when cooking and place it in the sink or dishwasher when you’re done with it.

This will keep the top of the tray clean so you can avoid washing it so often.

Ceramic Butter Tray Holder

But if you are a fan of the old-fashioned one, then this is a good one to get because it’s made of ceramic instead of glass (for less harm and mess if accidents happen).

Glass Food Storage Containers (Fridge)

These storage containers work better than many others because

  • They are glass, making it easier to see what’s in them.

This avoids food going to waste, and you would know precisely what you have in the fridge to plan appropriately when making a shopping list.

  • The lids are tightly closed to prevent spills.

  • The lids also don’t bend easily like plastic ones after the dishwasher heat hits them repeatedly.

General Organization Tips

When organizing, here are some tips to keep in mind for the best results:

  •  Remember that the goal is not to add more stuff to the stuff you already have

  • For many places around the house, like the pantry, the fridge, and closets, you need products that help you SEE what you have in them.

This way, they don't get forgotten, expired, or old without use, or they don't cause you to buy double because you forgot they were there.

  • There are so many things out there that work, so try not to be tempted to get more "organization" products after you already have everything you need and a system in place.

Otherwise, it just becomes fancy clutter.
